"The tympanums that raise water in Egypt require three pairs of oxen [...] If the threshing-milling machine requires four oxen at a time, i.e. 2 pairs to be set in motion, that would be 6 pairs of oxen per day [...] under these conditions my small owners [...] will prefer their system".... A trial should be carried out of a crusher-crusher operating with only 5 or 6 horsepower, which would also be used for threshing: "the farmer could save on the purchase of the steam engine"...
