This engraving belongs to a set of fifteen plates designed to illustrate an edition of the Book of Job. When the project was abandoned, Dado took over the entire gouache print. An exhibition of this set was held in 1979 at Galerie Isy Brachot, in Basel and Knokke. Many of the works were later used in collages, so that very few of the enhanced etchings have survived.
