Female statuette in weathered volcanic tuff, East Java, Majapahit, 14th - 15th century Depicted crouching, her left hand resting on one knee and her right holding a piece of her clothing. Her neck is adorned with rich necklaces and her ears with large flower-shaped earrings. The face is serene, with raised eyes, a slightly blunt nose and hemmed lips. Her hair, skilfully combed and embellished with flowers above the ears and forehead, is styled in a low bun covering the nape of the neck and upper back.
