Single-case lacquered wood inro, Japan, Edo period, 19th century On a ro-iro background decorated with lightly engraved waves on a gold background in lacquer, decorated in takamaki and tsuishu lacquer with a lobster. Inside the case is a small removable compartment. Below, an engraved signature 養成造 - Yōsei zo. 5.3 x 8.4 cm Slightly missing. Label inside: Gonse 434.
