Black and brown nephrite snuffbox decorated with dragons, China, 1780-1850 Ovoid in shape, the bottle is worked in a black inclusion on one side and black-veined gray on the other. Each is carved in very slight relief with a scaled dragon partly hidden in the clouds, spouting water from its mouth, its tail adorning the short side and shoulder. It stands on a concave oval foot.
