Jean LURÇAT (1892 - 1966) Warrior, circa 1960 Gouache. Signed lower left. 52.5 x 35 cm We would like to thank Mr. Gérard Denizeau for kindly confirming the authenticity of this drawing on the basis of a photograph, and for the information he provided. Our gouache can be compared with the "Gladiators" and "Centurions" series, which occupied the artist at the turn of the 1960s, denouncing the ravages of the Algerian War.
