Beautiful child's or teenager's uniform with basques, modelled on the uniforms of the line infantry fusiliers of the 1st Empire. Made of blue cloth. White breastplate fastened with six clasps, decorated with seven buttons featuring a crowned eagle, extended by a vest adjoining the white cloth, fastened with six buttons in a row, with two false pointed pockets. Colet, red facing and piping. Lined with fine ivory canvas. Embroidered with a "J" on the reverse of the collar. Red cloth-lined basques with two false pockets, six eagle buttons and two belt buttons. Very fine 19th-century workmanship. An equally fine saber lighter is included. Bronze handle and mount. Single-branch hilt. Curved blade with rounded back at the tip. Two-trimmed leather scabbard. With white tassel and passementerie strap. N.B.: Given the quality of this model, made by a military tailor, it could be likened to the uniforms made for the Imperial Prince (a family tradition).
