An XI model cavalry saber. Basane-covered handle with brass filigree and low ferrule. Brass mounting stamped "VERSAILLES" and "C" under star. Four-point guard, three of which are bolted. Original red cloth tie. An IX model straight blade, lath type, stamped AP and with lictor beam, flat back, counter-edge and point in the extension of the back. Leather scabbard with three brass fittings hallmarked "B" under star and "LR". Iron stinger. With two period buffalo lines with brass buckles and fasteners and its bleached buffalo cord, pompom and fringe lanyard. Blade length: 97 cm - Total length: 114 cm A.B.E. Consulate period.
