He has received numerous complaints "about the inconvenience which results for a large number of spectators on the parquet floor and in the amphitheatre of the Comédie Italienne, from the extent and enormous volume of the hats and other coëffures with which several women appear there, and which deprive of the view of the show and the actors all the people who are placed around or behind them". He reiterated the orders given "to allow only women whose coëffure will not inconvenience the spectators to enter the parquet floor and the amphitheatre"...
