Caroline SEGOND-WEBER (1867-1945). 6 L.A.S., 1886-1932; 11pages various sizes, 3 envelopes. March 20, 1886, signed "EWeber" (before her marriage), to Charles Ruebens in Brussels, with whom she is to perform La Gorgonne and Le Tombeau; she indicates the set elements; she will bring the costumes; she asks for an advance on her travel and costume expenses. - April 28, 1920, to Eugène Silvain, dean of the Comédie-Française, concerning her letter to the Administrator to be read to the Committee, in which she quotes Louise Silvain: "You do me the honor of trusting me to direct the child of your mind, your Xerxes the Persian. I'll repeat it whenever you like. I'm not pleading my case for Monime, won as she is, I'm sure. You can't have any doubts about the job, since you had Mme Silvain play her, who has never played the little ingénues of comedy any more than I have". - January 20, 1925, about her retirement: she would like to leave at the end of 1925. - March 21, 1926, to Mlle S. Good luck always, dear little one, and may your disappointments not alter your goodness, and your... poetic devotion!"... - Orange 1925 (on the back of her photograph), to Gabriel Reuillard, thanking him for his praise: "I am sending you a specimen of myself in L'Hérodienne, which I played here the day before yesterday"... - December 30, 1932, to the same address, thanking him for his article...
