Louise Fleury, Mme FUSIL (1771-1848).2 L.A.S., 1817-[1821]; 2pages in-8, and 2pages in-4 with address. Paris November 25, 1817, to a theater director, about a certain Madame Fleury who would like to debut at his theater "in the employment of characters"... [1821], to Adolphe Gentil de Chavagnac, director of the Odéon theater. She wants to have an explanation with him as to in what capacity and on what footing her daughter is employed [Mme Fusil, who played in Moscow, followed the retreat from Russia; in Vilna, Lithuania, she took in a two-year-old orphan, "Nadège, l'orpheline de Vilna", whose career she will direct]. She was scheduled to appear in Athalie tonight, but was to have played that evening at a salon party at Count Orloff's; an unforeseen bereavement disrupted the evening. But she would have been upset if the Odéon evening had been missed, and she wouldn't have wanted to disoblige Count Orloff. She would be very flattered if her daughter "could be useful" at the Odéon, but "not being entirely without the means to make her work pleasantly, I would not want her to be treated like those little girls we bring in when we can't find any others"...
