Paul CLAUDEL. Autograph manuscript, L'Annonce faite à Marie, Act I, [February 1948]; 2 pages in-4 at his address 11 Boulevard Lannes Paris XVIe.
Changes to Act I of L'Annonce faite à Marie during the 1948 revival at the Théâtre Hébertot. Claudel here gives a new version of the opening dialogue between Anne Vercors and the Mother, followed by various corrections for scenes 1 to 3 between Anne Vercors and Jacques Hury, with indication of the pages concerned: these are either didascalies, dialogues or lines. These changes were not made until Volume II of Claudel's theater was republished in the Bibliothèque de La Pléiade in 1952 (the first edition of Claudel's theater in the Pléiade, in 1948, did not include these changes).
