Georges AURIC (1899-1983). L.A.S., [June 10, 1916], to pianist Ricardo Viñes; 1 page in 12, address on back. About Léon Bloy. [Auric and Viñes were friends of Bloy through his books. Auric practically witnessed Bloy's death in 1917]. Auric invited Viñes to lunch at Léon Bloy's, in Bourg-la-Reine, the day after tomorrow, Whit Monday: "You will give Bloy great pleasure. He's had a very bad month, and it would be nice to go [...] and see the 'Pilgrim of the Absolute'". He should have asked him a long time ago, "for you would have given great joy to the sick and "ungrateful" inhabitant - as the pigs say - of the house of the republican mystic!!!".... [According to Bloy's diary, on June 12, 1916, Auric came alone, then Pierre Termier, Jacques and Raïssa Maritain].
