ROBERT PÉROT (1931-2003)
Trained as a sculptor at the École des Beaux-Arts in Reims, Robert Pérot turned to ceramics when he moved to Vallauris, where he opened the Le Vieux Moulinen workshop in 1954. His sculptural spirit is evident in his ceramics, which feature a clever interplay of volumes and often geometric decorations. The chromatic aspect of his glazes, dominated by beige tones, is also typical of his work. In the early 1970s, however, Pérot left Vallauris to return fully to his training as a sculptor - working in bronze and cast aluminum.
