GEORGES PELLETIER (1938-2024)
Born in Belgium, Georges Pelletier trained in Paris - at the Académie Charpentier and then at the École des métiers d'art - before attending the workshops of Claude Pantzer, Fernand Léger and Poterie d'Accolay, where he perfected his skills. In 1961, he opened his Paris workshop and collaborated with Roche Bobois to create exceptional lighting fixtures. His sculptural and decorative work is often inspired by the solar form. His curved volumes are complemented by a play of solids and voids, enlivened by beads attached to metal rods - characteristic motifs in his work. He settled in Cannes in 1973, where he continued his research until his death in 2024.
