WAYNE FISCHER (B. 1953) Trained in the United States, then settled in the Var region of France, American artist Wayne Fischer has created a singular body of work based on his use of a "double-walled" porcelain technique, which gives his creations an inside-out reading. Her works resemble organic, biomorphic sculptures, inspired by the shapes of bodies and nature. Through meticulous modeling and assembly, and his technique of sandblasting and sanding surfaces, he gives clay a uniquely carnal and sensitive aspect.
