GUTTE ERIKSEN (1918-2008) Bowl. Stoneware; glazed interior. Signed GUTTE under the base. Height: 9cm - Diameter: 10,5cm GUTTE ERIKSEN (1918-2008) Trained at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts, Gutte Eriksen set up her workshop in Kastrup in 1942. Initially faithful to her country's ceramic tradition, her production was enriched by contact with international ceramists and by her travels, notably to England, La Borne and Japan. Her works, initially characterized by their powerful, undecorated forms, evolved over the years under the influence of oriental ceramics. In particular, she adopted the technique of flowing glazes and a more expressive modelling style, which preserves the traces of her hand.
