XAVIER DUROSELLE (B. 1962)
An essential figure in contemporary ceramics, Xavier Duroselle has been practicing since 1985, and has been based in the Drôme provençale since 1997. His work, rooted in porcelain, is fully in line with the history of this age-old technique, and echoes the traditions of the Far East and Art Nouveau, as well as contemporary figures such as Jean Girel. His seemingly simple creations feature soft, balanced contours, sometimes folded, pinched or perforated, and pastel-colored surfaces; black is also present in his chromatic range.
