PIERRE DIGAN (1941-2016)
Originally from Guadeloupe, Pierre Digan is a key figure in La Borne, where he settled in 1960 following training at the École des Beaux-Arts de Beaune under Michel Lucotte. In collaboration with Barbara Delfosse, he created large sculptures and utilitarian pieces in pyrity stoneware. The latter were later produced on a larger scale, thanks to the development of the "Digan Grès" company with his wife Janet Stedman. At the same time, he continued to produce art, notably claustras, before leaving La Borne in 1979 to devote himself mainly to sculpture.
