BARBARA DELFOSSE (1939-2009)
Celebrated as one of the pioneers of La Borne's ceramic revival, Barbara Delfosse, née Geneviève, settled in the village shortly after her studies at the École des Beaux-Arts de Beaune. After an initial period working in a duo with Pierre Digan, she began pursuing an independent artistic path in 1973. In her studio, she creates earthenware pieces highlighted with "guillochage" - engraved and incised repetitive motifs - whose nuances are revealed by gas and then wood firing. The result is the mirrors, boxes and lighting fixtures for which she is renowned in France and around the world. Marked by independence, his life and work are deeply rooted in working with clay.
