Exhibition: Claude Champy, Sculptures céramique - Galerie Artes, Troyes, from March 5 to April 16, 2016. Our work exhibited at this event. Our work reproduced on page 239. CLAUDE CHAMPY (B. 1944) Trained in Paris at the École des Arts appliqués et des Métiers d'art, Claude Champy soon asserted a strong, consistent identity that would remain based on simplicity - of form, on the one hand, but also of decoration. Champy adopts a deliberately refined technique, based on stoneware and the use of just two glazes - white and black - sometimes enriched with salt and ash. The result is powerful sculptural and utilitarian works, deeply rooted in the work of the hand, which mirror nature.
