[CONSTITUTION]. Procès-verbal of the monuments, march, and speeches of the Fête devoted to the inauguration of the Constitution of the French Republic, August 10, 1793. Published in Paris by Imprimerie Nationale in 1793. In-8 in sheets. 24 pages. Small tear to first leaf, rare light spotting, some pages a little foxed. Procès-verbal de la fête du 10 août 1793, documenting in detail the inauguration ceremony of the Constitution of Year I, organized by the National Convention. The text describes the ephemeral monuments, the procession, the official speeches, the republican symbols used (trees of liberty, altars of the fatherland, allegorical statues), and the patriotic emotion intended by the organizers. It is signed by Hérault, Amar, C. Bourdon, Fayazu, Audouin, Tribion and Dartigoeyte. A fine copy of this official account of one of the great civic rituals of the French Revolution.
