Contemporary binding. 714 pages, letterpress headbands. Minor rubbing, slight scuffing to boards, 2 corners worn. Title page missing. Almanach Royal for the year 1789, one of the most sought-after years since it was the last royal almanac before the French Revolution. In the great d'Houry tradition, it lists the names and addresses of all "important" society at the time. Like the title page, the plate entitled "La France divisée en 83 départemens, suivants les décrets de l'Assemblée Nationale pour l'Almanach Royal 1791" is missing here. Handwritten bookplate on the last non-chaptered leaf. A good copy of one of the last royal almanacs.
