Edward LEE CHILDE and Marie Elisabeth de SARTIGES
Two photographs by the Fratelli Vianelli studios taken on the occasion of their wedding in 1888 (21 x 10.5 cm).
Jointly four photographs of Marie de Sartiges.
Two by the Otto studios in Paris (13 x 21.2 cm), one by the Lang & Zipser studios in Baden (16.5 x 11 cm) and one in disguise for the Princesse de Sagan's ball on rue Saint Dominique, 1888 (23.6 x 17.8 cm).

Provenance: Château du Perthuis.

Note: After Blanche de Triqueti's death in 1886, Edward Lee Childe remarried Marie Elisabeth de Sartiges, daughter of Count and Ambassador Eugène de Sartiges. The Childe family lived a social life, frequenting the European aristocracy, but curiously remained attached to Château du Perthuis and to the memory of the Triqueti family. They kept the estate as Blanche had laid it out in 1883, and after Marie's death in 1944, the château remained the property of the family, who cultivated its memory.
