King's corps grade flintlock rifle, 2nd model (1816). Round barrel with thunderbolts, hallmarked 1817 and "MR". Lock signed "Manuf Royale de Versailles" with drum and hallmarked "G" under star. Brass fittings uniformly stamped "D" and iron ramrod. Walnut stock with French coat-of-arms thumb piece marked "GARDE DU CORPS DU ROI". Barrel length: 103 cm - Overall length: 143 cm A.B.E. (counterplate screw changed). Presented with a bayonet with medial ferrule and triangular blade. Length: 52.5 cm A.B.E. Restoration period.
