Drum major saber model 1822. Leather-covered handle with double filigree. Lion's head pommel with short palmette skirt. Crosspiece with two flared quillons decorated on the obverse with the great arms of France (obliterated) encircled by the collar of the Holy Spirit. Plain reverse stamped "CP" under crown. Flat-backed curved blade engraved "Manuf Ral de Klingenthal mai 1823". Scabbard with two holding hooks. Four bracelets adorned with stamped plates decorated with palmettes, foliage and trophies of arms. Three-lobed sting decorated en suite. Plain reverse signed "Manceaux à Paris". Length: 102 cm A.B.E.
