Imperial Guard horse grenadier saber. Leather-covered handle with silver filigree. Cut-out pommel and "C" stamped ferrule. Palmette quillon with "Versailles" bar and "JC" hallmark. Flat-backed curved blade engraved "Mfture Imple du Klingenthal Coulaux Frères", with hollow sides and gutter. 2nd model brass scabbard with leather-covered wooden hollows, held in place by two rings and two brackets (scabbard previously rebuilt under the chape). Presented with a later bleached buffalo strap. Length: 116 cm A.B.E. First Empire period.
