Light cavalry saber, An IX type. Basane-covered handle with olives. Brass mounting stamped with Mouton and Levavasseur. Three-prong hilt, two shuttle-shaped auricles (accident and repair to the one on the reverse). Hollow-point curved blade stamped en suite and flat back signed "MFture de Klingenthal Coulaux frères Entreprs". Presented with a mismatched officer's scabbard with two flat bracelets and asymmetrical cut-out stinger. Length: 105 cm A.B.E. (wear and minor accidents to the scabbard). Consulate period for the frame and blade.
