Officer's saber of the 13th light infantry demi-brigade. Leather-covered handle with double filigree. Brass mounting, single-branch hilt, two shuttle-shaped aurillons (one broken) and straight boulé quillon. Flat-backed, curved blade with hollow sides, engraved, gilded and blued (wear) with pomegranate, Phrygian cap and hunting horn with number 13. Leather scabbard with two brass fittings, chappe button and suspension ring. Total length: 87 cm A.B.E. Consulate period. Note: the unit became the 13th light infantry regiment in 1803.
