Model 1874 cuirassier officer's helmet and breastplate set including: - Officer's helmet. Silver-plated copper shell. Godron crest, pomegranate headband, velvet-lined tortoiseshell chinstraps, gold-plated brass plume holder and snap ring. Brass marmoset (added later). Black mane with braid. Red horsehair marmoset puff. With its gilded passementerie olive plume. Inner troop headpiece. Missing nape lining. A.B.E. - Officer's breastplate in iron plate (traces of nickel plating), trimmed with brass rivets. Lion's head shoulder pad attachments, double row of curb chain rings and brass laurel leaf clasps. Shoulder pad lining and leather ties (one restored and detached, one shoulder pad lining broken). Incomplete leather belt (buckle missing). A.B.E. Circa 1880. Presented on a stand with a pair of scarlet troop epaulets.
