Set of five talismanic cases, North Africa, late 19th - early 20th century Rectangular in shape and closing with a lid, two in silver and two in metal with chased decoration, one in brass with silver trim. The larger of the two has a plant motif with a medallion on one side and a star on the other, suspended by a double chain punctuated with cylindrical and spherical openwork pearls and trimmed with Moroccan dirham and coral pearl pendants; the second (in low-titre silver) has a domed lid, a plant motif with a coin on each side, suspended by a chain; the third is decorated with a star on a rosette background; the fourth (in low-title silver) is decorated with an openwork niche on a plant background on one side, a stylized rosette on the back, with foreign and North African coins suspended from chains as pendants; the fifth is in brass trimmed with chased silver plates forming a plant motif.
