Koumiyya dagger and powder horn, Morocco, 20th century The dagger has a wooden handle with engraved silver "gendarme hat" trim, a curved double-edged blade and a silver scabbard cast and chased with floral decoration, flanked by two rings linked by a braided black textile cord. On the blade, chased decoration of a floral cartouche and a rider in a medallion. The powder flask is made of horn with metal and brass fittings chased with plant scrolls and rosettes, flanked by two suspension rings and closed with a stopper linked to a chain. Dagger length: 40 cm; gross weight: 610 g; powder horn length: 33 cm. Dagger: small scratches, small traces of oxidation on the blade; powder horn: suspension cord missing, a weld to a ring, small scratches and traces of oxidation.
