Height: 6 cm; top diameter: 8.2 cm
Accents and restorations.

Most likely imported from the West as early as the 17th century, the art of painted enamels in Iran qâjâr also drew its iconographic inspiration from European art, justifying, for example, the recurrence of images of Virgins with Child, English-style floral garlands or European women in the continuity of Safavid farangi sazi. In this particular case, it is tempting to see the portrait of a woman holding an amphora as inspired by Ingres' painting, as if the artist had merged the two models of the Source (Musée du Louvre, RF 219) and the Grande Odalisque (Musée du Louvre RF 1158).
