Qalyan stove decorated with portraits, Iran qâjâr, 19th century Campaniform copper-alloy stove with polychrome enamel decoration of four medallions featuring portraits, alternately of men and couples, against a landscape background. All are dressed in European style, with the exception of one man wearing a kolah-namadi and holding a cup or beaker. These medallions stand out against a blue background embellished with golden floral sprays. At the bottom is a band of epigraphic cartouches containing Persian nasta'liq verses and iris flowers.
