Calligraphic exercise siyah mashq, Iran qâjâr, signed 'Alî Rezâ al-Hosseini Calligraphic composition on paper of several multidirectional lines in Persian nasta'liq and nasta'liq shekasteh in black ink in reserves on a gold background embellished with two illuminated spandrels. Mounted on a muraqqa album page with cartouches illuminated with floral decoration or calligraphed in Persian nasta'liq in red ink in reserves on a gold background.
