'Alî and his children, Iran qâjâr, early 20th century Grisaille in black ink wash heightened with gilding on cardboard paper depicting 'Ali kneeling with his zulfikar sword in his hands, flanked by his sons Hassan and Hossein and two turbaned men standing behind them. Within a poly-lobed medallion with spandrels painted with gilded floral scrolls enhanced with polychrome gouache and housing two gold-backed epigraphic cartouches containing sayings of the Imam in Thuluth Arabic.
