Two folios from a manuscript of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, Iran, 19th century Handwritten folios on paper in Persian nasta'liq in black ink, the text of 25 lines in four columns, some verses obliquely on one folio, the titles inscribed in red ink in cartouches. Each illustrated on one side in gouache and gold, one of an assembly of men in a mountain landscape, several conversing, two on donkeys and horses, the second depicting a man fallen from his mount. One folio stamped at the top with the date 1318 H / 1900. Dim. folios: 30.1 x 20.3 cm, 27.4 x 19.2 cm Folios cut out, stains, folds, wear, small tear on one, folios partly glued to card.
