On the back, Ottoman calligraphy of 5 lines of text in naskhi Arabic in black ink within cartouches, the text punctuated with floral motifs illuminated in gold and gouache and framed by a yellow margin powdered with gold. The text is taken from the poem al-Burda by al-Busirî (1211-94).
