Sebastien Bonnecroy was active in Antwerp and The Hague between 1650 and 1673. Few works by him are known. Our painting is the only one by Bonnecroy depicting flowers. The rendering of the roses can be compared with those of Carstiaen Luycks from the same period (RKD image 521818).
