Nikita KHROUSHCHEV (1894-1971). P.S. with autograph apostille, 8.XII.1949, on a typewritten document addressed to him as Comrade Secretary by the Communist Party of Ukraine, December 3, 1949; 1-page in-fol. on the letterhead of the Communist (Bolshevik) Party of Ukraine, ink receipt stamp (left edge slightly frayed); in Russian (English translation enclosed).
Rare document from Khrushchev, then First Secretary of the Party in Ukraine.
The document concerns the workers of the kolkhozes and sovkhozes, who must develop livestock breeding, which has increased by 35% since 1940, especially the pig herd, and which must increase further in order to satisfy the demand for meat. Due to bad weather, the situation has become tense and several kolkhozes are in difficulty. Beet growing is very useful for feeding livestock, but supply is difficult due to the distance of the kolkhozes from the railroads. On the other hand, sugar beet production is expanding: Stalin's factory processes 35,000 heads a day. At present, there are 3 sugar beet processing factories in Stalin, Lenin and Shramkovsky, which need to reach a yield of 450,000 to send to other regions...
At the top of the document, in green ink, Khrushchev inscribed the names of Comrades Korniyets and Roudnytsky, his signature and the date "8/XII/49".
