Luigi DALLAPICCOLA (1804-1975). L.S. with musical quotation, Firenze January 13, 1974, to Willi Reich; 1 1/2 pages in-4 dactyl; in Italian. About his Piccola Musica Notturna, a short piece written for Hermann Scherchen in the spring of 1954, based on a text by Antonio Machado translated by Carlo Bo, for which Dallapiccola provides the text. The basis of his work is an "Allintervall-reihe"; he had intended to follow this music with another composition on the same series, but did not. He quotes an American commentary from a record sleeve, and transcribes the series (one line of music).
