Auguste BARTHOLDI. L.A.S., February 1, 1893, to a "dear friend"; 1 1/2 in-8 pages on the letterhead of the Société libre des Artistes français. Reminds his friend that he had let him hope "that you would one day be so kind as to give a small lecture at our Société libre des Artistes". While waiting for this wish to come true, he invited him to the society's annual banquet: "I'd like to introduce you to our meeting, its spirit, its tendencies and its efforts. I trust you will have a pleasant impression of your evening; in any case, you will find yourself with Bonnat, Henner, Fleury, etc., in the midst of artists who will be happy to show you their sympathy"...
