Large blue and white porcelain vase, Japan, Arita, 17th century Octagonal in shape, decorated on the body in blue underglaze enamel with phoenixes, peonies, chrysanthemums and rocks. Above, on the shoulder, a band of tako karakusa, then another band of stylized lotus petals, on each side of the neck a decoration alternating leaf and cloud on a scroll background. A hole has been drilled at the bottom for a metal frame to transform the vase into a fountain. Height: 50 cm Fel around the hole under the foot, lid missing.
