Red glass snuffbox with fish and egret design, China, 1780-1860 Quadrangular in shape with rounded shoulders, the red overlay on a translucent "snowflake" background is carved with a carp in lotus on one side and an egret under a millet stem on the other. The bottom of the bottle is entirely wrapped in a lotus leaf in red overlay. It stands on an oval foot. Green jadeite stopper.
