Baltic amber snuffbox decorated with a bat and a Fô dog, China, 1800-1860 Of flattened rectangular form with rounded shoulders, carved on one side with a bat in flight above incised clouds and a bifid Fô dog. A small insect worked in a piece of amber is applied to the reverse, its legs incised all around. Tourmaline and blue enamel stopper. Height: 6.5 cm Small defects on the foot.
