Snuffbox in blue overlay glass and panels of glass mountings, China, late 19th century A rounded, flattened snuffbox in opaque white "snowflake" glass, decorated with a polychrome glass mount in a blue overlay frame on each side. One depicts two dragons in pursuit of the flaming pearl above the waves from which the sun emerges. The other depicts a horse galloping above the waves, exhaling a yin-yang. The shoulders are carved with a Buddhist lion's head and a blue overlay ring. The oval foot is also ringed in blue. Blue glass stopper.
