PLOSSU, BERNARD (1945) [Signed] Planches Contact, 2020. Portfolio, limited to 30 copies, consisting of 5 inkjet prints on Arches 400gr paper, signed on the back in graphite. "Always between two journeys, the early 70s were also a time of comical desire to use photography as a prank language! This was "surbanalisme" (published), and "le voyage en absurdie" (not published, abandoned). But among the possible materials for this reflection in homage to Chaval and other Cosinus, there was also the contact sheet, i.e. the entire film telling a possible story! It was the Arc de Triomphe that goes for a spin, or what the camera sees when the photographer isn't looking at it, either in front on his chest, or slung over his shoulder on the side... It was a wild workshop: just a few jokes with no pretensions other than to have a laugh... At the time, alas, I had a 24 mm wide-angle lens on the Nikkormat... Later, I destroyed the images made with this lens, which was not objective, too distorting... But not these few photographic snippets made between 2 distant trips, on returning to France and wondering "what is photography"? ". - Bernard Plossu
