[ARTS DÉCORATIFS] Annuaire des Arts décoratifs et industriels modernes Paris: Direction générale et administration [R. Stenger, R. Chéney], 1924. - In-4, publisher's illustrated boards. Very rare first edition of this yearbook published in advance of the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts held in Paris in the spring of 1925. "Its characteristic feature is to bring together, in elegant form, the names of the industrialists and merchants who make up the elite of the masters of taste, alongside articles by authorized writers, the whole of which will form the annual chronicle of the movement of the arts in contemporary industry. It thus fulfills the dual role of keeping the public informed of new production efforts, and at the same time indicating those who are in a position to provide the results" (p. 5). Contributors to the texts were Fernand David, Frantz Jourdain, Gaston Varenne, Eugène Belville, Jacques Mayor, Valmy-Baysse, René Chavance, Guillaume Janneau, André Warnod and Yvanhoé Rambosson. The book includes the exhibition regulations at the top. The texts are interspersed with largely illustrated advertisements for the various exhibitors, such as decorators René Prou, Camille Richard, Henri Wimphen, Mme Xavier Rozier and M. Leleu, Louis Doumergue, goldsmith Jean Puiforcat, silversmiths Hénin et compagnie, jewelers Paul Templier and Henri Dubret, as well as ironworkers, ceramists, etc. Slightly faded spine. Two tears on the second cover, affecting the illustration.
