Third edition, the first posthumous, augmented by memoirs on the respiration and transpiration of animals, of this treatise considered the first modern chemistry textbook, composed by the famous chemist and physicist Antoine-Laurent de Lavoisier (1743-1794). The edition includes two out-of-text folding tables in the first volume and thirteen folding plates in the second. Without the volume comprising the "Opuscules physiques et chimiques", which completes these two volumes, and which is sometimes enclosed. A good copy in contemporary binding, complete with the "Catalogue de livres Qui se trouvent chez Deterville" bound at the end of the second volume.
