ALBUM DE DESSINS. S.l., between 1880 and 1900. In-4 oblong, long-grained dark blue morocco, double gilt fillet and cold-rolled border, word "ALBUM" gilt on center front cover, ornate ribbed spine, inner gilt border, red edges (modern pastiche binding). Superb album of over 100 drawings on more than 60 leaves, featuring numerous flowers, birds, country scenes and various ornaments. The album is dated 1884 and 1898. Most of the work was done in gouache and wash, but there are also some pencil portraits at the beginning of the book, including one of a sailor, as well as a few sketches. The birds are inspired by the work of Giacomelli. The compositions are not signed, but the name of Jeanne Gogefort (or Goyfort?) is inscribed in pencil at the beginning of the album. A very fine copy in a pastiche binding by Marc Ollivier.
